Korea’s New Year celebration is called Seollal and we celebrate it quite differently than the Chinese community.
We have specific meals we eat, clothes we wear, and family games we play. It’s a 3-day statutory holiday in Korea where families travel coast to coast to greet their relatives and practice Sebae and ancestral rituals to begin the new year. I hope this is helpful for you and your team to better understand the different cultures of CMC members celebrating the Lunar New Year.
Please see the poster of our Seollal celebration this Saturday, Feb. 1st from 11:30 am to 3 pm.
If you or any members want to drop by and see how we celebrate, we’d be delighted for you to join us. We just need the total number of attendees to prep for food.
