Newcomer Kitchen

Newcomer Kitchen trains newcomer women, food preparation and entrepreneurship to start their own food business funded by the Immigration Refugee Citizenship of Canada (IRCC). This free “earn as you learn” hybrid program helps prepare their food ideas to market in three real life food events with all revenue generated going back in their hands. The money earned is divided amongst the team (6 to 7 women) and a certificate is provided upon completion of the 14 week program.

We are not running a culinary program but empowering newcomers to showcase their favourite family and cultural dishes that they are proud of and familiar in cooking to the Canadian public, in hopes that they explore a small business venture.

Our next spring term starts soon in less than 2 weeks- evening and daytime program spaces are available (see flyer for details).

Our Newcomer Kitchen website is being revamped so it is not up-to-date however I am sharing a few posts from my personal blog about my recent experience training a couple of groups over the year and what to expect from events.
